My Favorite Actor (Matt Smith)

Today's post is about my favorite actor. This is in drama with Mrs Clark.

He had a brief film appearance in 2008’s In Bruges, and had also appeared in lesser known films Falling and Gotham, ILPerhaps his highest profile television work to date was in the BBC Two programme Party Animals, where he appeared in the role of a parliamentary researcher. That was back in 2007.Smith had to go through an audition process to get the role. New BBC Wales Head of Drama Piers Wenger said that he knew they’d got their man when he saw Smith’s audition. It all sounds a bit PR-y to us, but that’s their line. Smith won’t actually be seen as Doctor Who until 2010. David Tennant will be finishing his specials off first, and then Smith will be in the role from season five in Spring of 2010. He has had no appearance or link with the show before. Here is what I did:

Fizzy Drinks and Mentos.

Hello everyone today i'm doing a post about Fizzy Drinks and Mentos.

Our aim is to see which fizzy drink reacts the most to the mentos.

My hypothesis is that the cola is going to getting the biggest foam.

We are using 100ml of liquid coke and other, Ruler and a Beaker.

Equipment:

1. Mentos

2. Coke

3. Lemonade

4. Sparkling duet Raspberry

5. Ruler

6. Beaker

Method:

1. Collected and set up the beaker and ruler.

2. Get the first Liquid and put 100mls in the beaker.

3. Put mentos into the liquid.

4. Measured the height of the fizz.

5. Repeat steps 1-4 with the second and third liquids.

Here is what we did.

Rainbow Paper

Hello everyone welcome to or back to my blog today we are learning about chromatography. Today our aim is to separate the colours by using the process of chromatography.

These are the materials we are using today.

1. Boiling Tube.

2. Pen Marker.

3. Water.

4. Filter Paper.

5. Scissors.

6. Test Tube Stand.

7. Ruler.

8. Pencil

This is our process

1. Cut up the filtered paper into strips ready to write on with the felt pens.

2. Rule a line 1cm from the bottom of the paper strip.

3. Put 8ml of water into the bottom of the boiling tube.

4. Draw two coloured pen dots on the pencil line.

5. Drop the paper strip into the boiling tube and once it is touching the water at the bottom you can crease the top of the paper over.

6. Watch, take 2 photos and observe the chromatography process on your paper.

This is the definition of capillary action, filter paper and solvent

Photos Soon!

Drama Storyboard!

Hello everyone welcomes back to my blog,

Today I'm sharing my drama work with you. I hope you enjoy my drawing. But first here is a script of the play Bullies.

Click this to See the Scrip

The victim, I was a victim on the bus, at school and online. On the bus they called me a dumb and gay. I got mad and had a fight with them. The bus driver blamed me for the fight all the brown headed people on the bus attack me too. Then online at my house I saw messages of them calling me dumb. Then at school I told the teacher. I went back to school in Auckland, NZ and the school kids were saying and doing the same thing like at my old school and so I moved schools. Okay thanks for listening that has my Verson of being the victim. Okay now here's my picture:

Chromatography - Skittles

Hello welcome to or back to my blog, Today i'm doing a post about Chromatography, Chromatography is a technique for the separation of a mixture by passing it in solution or suspension through a medium in which the components move at different rates.

Our aim is to separate the colours from the skittles by using chromatography. The materials we are using today are 6 skittles, Water, Petri Dish and a beaker. The process we are using today is going be using 5 steps step one is get our equipment set up ready to pour the 50 mls of water into the petri dish with the skittles, step 2 place the skittles into the petri dish around the edges, step 3 pour 50mls water gently into the middle of the petri dish, Step 4 is going the to watch as the water removes the dye from the skittles. See which colour reaches the middle fastest. Here is a image of what happened:

Osmosis - Gummy Bears

Hello today's post is about osmosis the movement of solvent through the wall of a solid.

Our aim is to find out what happens to gummy bears when we put them into different liquids. My Prediction is the water will make it bigger. This is the definition of osmosis: Ibiologyosmosis is the movement of water molecules from a solution with a high concentration of water molecules to a solution with a lower concentration of water molecules, through a cell's partially permeable membrane.

Equipment:

1. Three solutions - Water, Sugar and salt.

2. Four gummy bears of the same colour.

3. Two Petri Dishes.

4. Marker Pen.

5. Electronic Balance.

6. Measuring Cylinder.

7. Beaker.

Theses are our steps.

1. Get your equipment.

2. Label Petri dishes with Dry, Water, Salt Water, Sugar Water.

3. Weigh the Gummy Bears and record their weight of the Petri dish.

4. Add 40ml of the solution into the Petri Dish

EDIT:

Findings

The water that was included in the first gummy bear dish made the gummy bear change from a dry weight of 2.46 to a wet weight of 5.94. The difference between the two weights was 3.48. This means that the gummy bear absorbed 3.48 grams of water though the process of osmosis. Te salt water gummy bear dish has a change from a dry weight of 2.48 and a wet weight of 3.90 that mean the different's was 1.92 grams. Lastly we did one last one with sugar water. When the bear was dry it was 2.45 gram and when it was wet it was 6.01 the difference was 3.56.

The one that changed the most was the sugar water so if you have them you can do it at home its fun but you have to wait 24 hours after you put it in.

The Ashley river stopbank is also at risk of failure, Ashburton, Timaru and Selywn have all declared civil defense emergency. Over 52 schools where closed in the south and north Christchurch area.

This is a picture of the Ashburton river

Thanks for looking and reading my post. Did anyone suffer or get affected from the floods if you have time then leave a comment. Thanks, Tom

4. Listen to the teacher at all times to make sure you know what your doing.

Equipment:

1. Detergent
2. Lighter

4. Gas
5. Tray
6. Hose

Instructions:

1. Collect your equipment.
2. Put some water into the tray.
3. Squirt some detergent into the water.
4. Put on your safety glasses.
5. Tie up any long hair.
6. Take off any jewelry.
