EOTC Week.

Hello everyone welcome to my blog,

Today i'm sharing about what i'm looking forward to do at EOTC week. (EOTC means Education Outside the Class). Adrenalin Forest is the first one i'm looking at and it's probably the most funnest active. Here is some information about Adrenalin forest. Adrenalin Forest courses feature over 100 fun filled challenges across six levels. Each level is harder than the last, with obstacles starting at 1.5 metres above the ground that are suitable for a wide range of ages and fitness levels. To conquer the whole course and claim your bragging rights, you’ll be climbing, jumping and swinging at least 20 metres up in the air.

This isn’t just a test of your physical skills - each obstacle can be conquered in different ways, so you’ll be stretching your brain as well. Challenges include the Indiana jump, crossed logs, barrels, wrecking balls, a commando flying fox and Tarzan jump.

Okay that's my post for the day I hope you enjoyed. Tom

What jobs do I want to do?

Hello everyone welcome to or back to my blog,

Today i'm doing a blog post about that jobs I want to do in my future. These jobs are what I want and I don't mean to offend people if I do. But any way, the first job I what to do is be an astronaut. Being an astronaut is hard work but that hard work pays off. This is a web site of how to be an astronaut with NASA: LINK. But here are some requirements, Astronaut requirements have changed with NASA's goals and missions. Today, to be considered for an astronaut position, applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  1. Be a U.S. citizen
  2. Possess a master's degree* in a STEM field, including engineering, biological science, physical science, computer science or mathematics, from an accredited institution.
  3. Have at least two years of related professional experience obtained after degree completion or at least 1,000 hours pilot-in-command time on jet aircraft.
  4. Be able to pass the NASA long-duration flight astronaut physical.

*The master's degree requirement can also be met by:

  • Two years (36 semester hours or 54 quarter hours) of work toward a doctoral program in a related science, technology, engineering or math field.
  • A completed Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree.
  • Completion (or current enrollment that will result in completion by June 2021) of a nationally recognized test pilot school program.
This website is a book about being fit. BEING FIT. But here are some on text. Astronauts in space must be able to twist, bend, lift, and carry massive objects. They must have strong core muscles so they can perform their tasks efficiently and avoid injury. In order to maintain muscle strength while in space, astronauts practice core-building activities before, during, and after their missions.

But really I just want to be an astronaut and if that doesn't work out I want to work on creating a space ship or a rover like there a Youtuber called Mark Rober. Mark Rober work on the the rover called Curiosity Rover. It landed on Mars. But here is some information to do that job. To apply for a job at NASA, go to http://www.usajobs.gov/. There you'll find the very latest job listings and information that will help you determine if you qualify for the position. NASA prefers to hire applicants with applicable university degrees, or those in the military with aviation experience and backgrounds. Image showed here.

But over all I hope you enjoyed this post if you have time please leave a comment. It really helps me.

People that were Affected by the Christchurch Earthquake

Hello everyone welcome to my blog,

Today we're learning about the christchurch earthquake because we were affected by the christchruch earthquake. The earthquakes were in 2010 and 2011. In 2010 the earthquake a was a 7.4 but it was at 4.30 am in the morning. But in 2011 there was a earthquake that was a 6.3 but it was at lunch time. So about 300 people died in the 2011 earthquake. But on to the point.

So in 2011 People lost family members in town but there was other things like liquifaction from the ground because christchurch was bulit on a swamp Also peoples homes were destroyed with liquidation and there home fell and stuff like that. Because people lost there homes they had to live in other peoples garages. The were people that died and got injured.

GeoNet: News

People in eldery homes had to move away from christchruch. People had to work from home and they had to deliver from there homes. People from other contrys came over to help like taiwan the army and Japanese.

Compass

Hello everyone welcome to my blog,

Some sports that you have a compass for is orienteering, Mountain climbing and kayaking. Some jobs that use compass's are being a orienteering leader, pilot and mining.

The compass was made by a Chinese man named Shen Kuo. Did you know that even something like a phone a can affect a compass also SOME ROCKS CAN. If you are wearing a watch it can affect it.

Schools in WW1.

 Hello everyone,

Welcome to my blog. Today i'm doing a DLO the DLO is about the schools of WW1. The schools were training kids to fight and the kids were knitting socks. The socks were for the solders over seas and they would send letters. The kids also learn't to fight they had to learn to fight to defend NZ if someone did try to invade. The kids didn't know how long the war was going to be so they learn to shoot and kill on command.

Here's a picture of the kids training for war.

I hope you have a wonderful day if you have time leave a comment.

Navigation

 Aim:

I want to walk in a straight line with no senses.

Hypothesis:

I predict that I will walk in a straight line.

Method:

Equipment

  • Bucket
  • A blindfold
  • Cotton wool
Instructions:
  1. Using a blindfold cover your eyes
  2. Put some cotton wool in your eyes
  3. Put the bucket on your head
  4. Spin around 3 times in a circle
  5. Get your partner and get them to line you up in the right direction
  6. Begin walking in a straight line
Safety:
  • Stop walking when you hear the whistle
  • If your partner taps you on the back stop you MUST STOP
  • Don't walk into anything
Results
  • Find a picture of your field
Here's my field

NO CHEATING

Discussion

Words to do with direction
  • Left/Right
  • Straight/Curve/ZigZag
  • Backwards/Forwards
  • Diagonal
  • Up/Down
  • North East South West
  • North East or Nor' East
  • North North East
  • Using a clock like at 3:00
  • 360 degrees

Conclusion
  • It's impossible to walk in a straight line if you could it would be talking with partner.
  • I didn't do it because usually one leg is longer so that mean you turn that way if you have no senses.
  • IF you do it you have even legs or you got lucky.

Science With Tom.

 Hello everyone,

We did a challenge with it and for the first day it work badly because me and partner were confused but today it work great because we learn it more, the word was white out. I feel if you use it try to use your arms and not hands.

This is a image of the code so take a screenshot of it you might need it in the future.

Value for money

Hello everyone,

welcome back to my blog. Today i'm sharing my DLO for value for money. Value for money is like trying to get one of the most stacked/fullest items and not getting one less full but the same price. Like if you was a 500 gram one and a 220 gram one and the 220 one was $6.00 but the 500 one was $8.00 I think I would choose the 500 one because you get more for more.
But now here is my DLO:

Gold Mine Era

Hello everyone welcome to my blog post,

Today i'm sharing about the gold mine Era of New Zealand.

Gabriel Read gained fame and provincial government bonuses when he found gold near the Tuapeka River, a tributary of the Clutha River in Otago.

Did you know that The Otago gold rush peaked in the mid-1860s, after which miners left in large numbers for the new West Coast goldfields. Read returned to Tasmania in 1864 and spent his final years in a mental hospital.

Five of the most famous miners who defined the industry

Matariki (Maori New Year)

Hello Welcome to my blog.

Today i'm sharing a post about Matariki.

Matariki is the Māori name for the Pleaides star cluster. It rises during Pipiri (June/July) and marks the beginning of the Māori new year. The word is an abbreviation of Ngā Mata o te Ariki (Eyes of God) in reference to Tāwhirimātea, god of the wind and weather.

Matariki is the Māori name for a star constellation that rises up into the sky in mid-winter. This signals an important time in the New Zealand calendar - the Māori New Year. Matariki is a celebration of people, culture, language, spirituality and history.

book

Hi.
I've been reading a book called The Beast of Buckingham Place by David Walliams.
The Beast of Buckingham Palace is David Walliams' brand new book. I think this is his most epic adventure ever! London is in ruins, the people are hungry, and darkness has fallen across the land. Prince Alfred, a poorly and bookish child, has never left the safety of Buckingham Palace. The king is in a bad state and the boy can barely get out out bed. His mum was sent to the tower of London and it was his mission to save her. I would say more but I can't because they are spoilers.
